How reviews sync

Last updated Sep 24, 2026 by SyncMyReviews

Reviews in SyncMyReviews come from three places: Google Business Profile, a Facebook Page, and reviews you record yourself.

Google and Facebook

After you map a location or Page to a business, the reviews already there are imported. See Connect Google Business Profile and Connect a Facebook Page.

After that first import:

  • A daily sync checks for anything new or changed.
  • Google notifications and the Facebook webhook deliver new reviews between syncs.
  • If a customer edits the text or star rating, SyncMyReviews keeps the updated copy and marks the review as modified on the dashboard.

The first import does not send one email per historical review. Later new reviews, and later edits, can.

Email when something changes

Open Settings and find New reviews. The description there is: email me when a new review arrives or an existing one is edited.

  • Primary sends to your sign-in email.
  • Communication sends to the account communication email, when one is set.

If both point at the same address, you get one email. The message links to Reviews. The same settings page is where you turn the emails off.

Manual reviews

You can record a review yourself, and the private feedback step of a review pipeline stores a manual review when a visitor leaves a low rating. Manual reviews show up next to Google and Facebook reviews in Reviews, widgets, and the trust card. They are not posted back to Google or Facebook.

Where to read them

Reviews filters by source, business, rating, tag, date, and search. Dashboard shows totals, the rating split, and the latest reviews for the business tab you have open.
