Keep Your Hours Accurate (Especially Holidays)

How to set business hours

  1. Go to your Business Profile.

  2. Select Edit profile.

  3. Next to "Business hours", click the pencil icon next to each section.

  4. Fill in your regular weekly hours.

  5. Add special hours for holidays and one-off closures in advance.

  6. Add additional categories like "pickup" or "online service hours" if relevant.

  7. Select Save.

Best Practices

  • Set holiday hours at least a week in advance - Google often surfaces them prominently in Search.
  • If a closure is permanent, change regular hours rather than marking the business temporarily closed.
  • Use 'More hours' to declare separate hours for delivery, pickup, drive-through, or service-only.

During festive periods, customers rely heavily on accurate online information to plan their visits. Avoid negative customer experiences by proactively updating any changes to regular operating hours, including holiday or special hours.

You're done when

  • Your regular weekly hours are correct.
  • Upcoming holiday and special hours are set in advance.
  • Any pickup or service-only hours are listed where relevant.
