Use Google Posts as a Marketing Channel, Not a Notice Board

Google Posts let you publish updates, offers, and events that show inside Search and Maps. Treat them like social posts — keyword-rich, visual, and timely — and your Profile becomes a dynamic, engaging destination.

Use Google Posts as a Marketing Channel, Not a Notice Board

How to create a Google Post

  1. Go to your Business Profile.

  2. Select Add Post.

  3. Pick a post type: Update, Offer, or Event.

  4. Add a great visual, a description, and any relevant dates or coupon codes.

  5. Add a CTA button (Order online, Buy, Learn more, Sign up, Call now).

  6. Publish.

Best Practices

  • Include keywords your customers search for (e.g. Mother's Day, Happy Hour, gluten-free).
  • Always pair the post with a strong, on-brand image. Posts without media perform poorly.
  • Post at least once a week. Posts expire after 7 days for Updates / Offers — consistency matters.
  • Rotate all three post types over the month: Updates, Events, and Offers.
