How to respond to a review
Find your Business Profile on Google and open the Reviews tab.
Locate the review you want to respond to.
Click Reply next to the review.
Write a personal, specific response — not a template.
Click Reply to publish.
Best Practices
- Respond within 48 hours — fast replies signal an attentive business.
- Always thank the reviewer by name, then reference something specific from their review.
- For negative reviews, acknowledge, apologize, and move the resolution offline. Never argue publicly.
- Generate a QR code that points straight to your review form and place it on receipts, menus, or your storefront window.
Since most consumers read reviews before making a decision, good reviews can be the deciding factor that leads a customer to choose your business. Responding to these reviews, both positive and negative, is equally important as it shows you value customer feedback and builds stronger loyalty.
